Hi all,
This is Imani and I’m excited to announce my short story “North” was accepted in Crossed Genres Hidden Youth anthology, following their successful Long Hidden anthology published about two years ago.
The anthology was edited by writers Mikki Kendall and Chelsya Burke, and feature 22 stories about young people living in the margins.
I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of this project.
This story, what I’ve affectionately called my Great Migration ghost story, has been cooking for about a year and half, and will be my first publishing cred!

It’s loosely based on my great-grandmother who left Huntsville, AL in 1918 to move to Detroit, and my great-grandfather who followed her up…and a touch of magic.
Thanks to Jami Nord from Chimera Editorial for all of her help, and my genealogy obsession:) Crossed Genres is a small press and is holding a kickstarter for the project, so to pre-order a book, follow the links in the photo captions. Let me know if you have any questions!
